Aesthetic servers are about ambiance, not activity. The channel names are decorative, the categories are styled, and the goal is for someone scrolling the channel list to feel something specific (cozy, academic, nostalgic, dreamy) before they ever read a message. This template uses unicode-styled channel names and category headers as the design surface. Channels are kept few and intentional — too many channels breaks the curated feel.

When to use this template
Use this template if the server is held together by a mood rather than a task — cottagecore, dark academia, y2k, lo-fi, kawaii, soft girl, etc. If members are mostly there for an activity (gaming, art, study) and the mood is just decoration, use the activity-specific template instead. If the mood is "professional" or "minimalist", you don't want this template — you want the Community template with neutral styling.
Common mistakes when setting this up
The fastest way to ruin an aesthetic server is to over-channel it. Six themed channels feel curated; sixteen feel cluttered and chaotic. Resist the urge to make a channel for every sub-theme. Other mistake: copy-pasting a unicode-style channel name without checking it on mobile — a lot of fancy unicode breaks or gets clipped on phone clients. Test on mobile before committing. Also: aesthetic servers attract spammers because the names look soft and unprotected — turn on Discord's built-in member-safety settings and consider a verification gate even for small servers.
