Discord Banner Downloader

Paste a user ID and get their profile banner at full resolution — up to 4096 px wide, animated ones included. Discord renders the banner small on a profile card, so screenshotting it loses most of the detail. Want the profile picture too? Use the avatar downloader, or crop your own with the banner resizer.

Turn on Developer Mode in Discord, then right-click a user and choose Copy User ID.

Discord banner sizes, and why a screenshot looks worse

Discord draws the banner small and crops it differently depending on where the profile appears, so what you see is never the whole stored image.

Requesting a size larger than what was uploaded makes Discord’s CDN upscale it, so a bigger number is not automatically a sharper image.

Frequently asked questions

How do I download someone’s Discord banner?

Turn on Developer Mode in Discord under Settings → Advanced, right-click the user and choose Copy User ID, then paste that number above. The banner comes back at up to 4096px wide in PNG, WebP or, for animated banners, GIF. Nothing is sent to the user and they are not notified — the lookup reads the same public profile data any client fetches when it renders their card.

Why does it say the user has no banner?

Profile banners are a Nitro feature, so most accounts genuinely do not have one — Discord shows a solid colour derived from their profile instead, and there is no image file behind it. That colour is not downloadable because it is drawn by the client. If you were expecting a banner, check you copied the user ID rather than the server ID or a message ID; all three are 17–20 digit snowflakes and look identical.

What size is a Discord profile banner?

600 × 240 at a 5:2 ratio is Discord’s documented minimum, and Discord upscales from it cleanly. Because that minimum is small, the larger sizes this tool offers are the CDN scaling the stored asset up rather than revealing extra detail — the sharpest result is whatever the person actually uploaded. Discord also crops the banner differently on the compact profile popout than on the full profile, so the stored image usually contains more than you see in either view.

Can I download an animated banner?

Yes. Animated banners are a Nitro perk and their file hash begins with a_. When the banner is animated this tool offers GIF alongside PNG and WebP — choosing a still format gives you a single frame rather than the animation, which is useful if you only want a screenshot of it.

Can I make my own banner from an image?

This tool only downloads existing banners. To crop your own image to Discord’s banner proportions, use the banner resizer, which crops to 600×240 in your browser and shows a live profile preview so you can see what the crop hides.
