Discord Banner Resizer
Upload any image, crop it to the exact Discord banner size — 600×240 profile or 960×540 server — and preview how it looks on a real profile, avatar overlap included. Nothing is uploaded; it all runs locally.
Discord banner size guide (2026)
Every Discord image slot, its exact dimensions, and the catch nobody mentions. All banners cap at 10 MB.
| Where | Size | Ratio | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Profile banner | 600 × 240 px | 5:2 | Nitro required to set one. GIF banners need Nitro too. |
| Server banner | 960 × 540 px | 16:9 | Minimum size — shown at the top of the channel list. Needs Boost Level 2. |
| Server banner (high quality) | 1920 × 1080 px | 16:9 | Same 16:9 slot, sharper on large screens. |
| Server invite splash | 1920 × 1080 px | 16:9 | Background of invite links. Needs Boost Level 1. |
| Server icon | 512 × 512 px | 1:1 | Displayed as a circle — keep the subject centered. |
FAQ
What size is a Discord banner?
Profile banners are 600 × 240 pixels (a 5:2 ratio). Server banners are 960 × 540 pixels minimum (16:9) — upload 1920 × 1080 for the sharpest result. Both have a 10 MB file-size cap. The tool above crops to these exact dimensions.
Why does my Discord banner look cropped or zoomed?
Discord center-crops any image that isn't the exact ratio: 5:2 for profile banners, 16:9 for server banners. If your image is taller or wider, the edges get cut. Crop to the exact ratio first — that's what this tool is for — and use the live preview to check the avatar overlap before uploading.
Do I need Nitro for a profile banner?
Yes — custom profile banners are a Nitro feature. Without Nitro your profile shows a solid color instead (your accent color). Server banners don't need Nitro, but the server needs Boost Level 2.
Can I make an animated (GIF) Discord banner?
Discord accepts animated GIF banners (profile banners need Nitro). This tool exports static PNG/JPG/WebP — re-encoding an animated GIF in the browser produces poor results, so we don't pretend to. Crop your GIF's dimensions in a video/GIF editor using the sizes from the guide above.
Does my image get uploaded to your server?
No. The crop and export run entirely in your browser with the canvas API — the image never leaves your device. That's also why it's fast.
What file formats does Discord accept for banners?
PNG, JPG, WebP, and GIF (animated needs Nitro for profiles), all under 10 MB. PNG keeps sharp edges and text crisp; JPG/WebP give smaller files for photos. The tool warns you if your export exceeds the 10 MB cap.
