Safety Filters Built In

Opt-In Per Channel

Configurable Time Limit
Set how long calls can last (1, 5, 10, 30 minutes). When time's up, both sides see a "call ending" warning then the bridge closes. Members can extend with /userphone-extend if both sides agree.

Mods on either side can /userphone-hangup to end the call instantly. Mods can also block specific servers from matching with theirs in the future (useful if a call goes badly).

Mods run /userphone-setup in a channel. Bot confirms it's now opt-in for cross-server calls. Default time limit: 10 minutes. Members can see the channel is "userphone-enabled" via a pinned message.
Member starts a call
Any member runs /userphone in that channel. Bot finds another userphone-enabled server in the pool (matched by server size + region, not by topic — randomness is the feature). Connection takes 5-15 seconds.
Members chat across the bridge
Messages typed in either channel appear in both. Member names show with a server-tag prefix so everyone knows who's from where. Pictures, gifs, and reactions all bridge.
Hang up or time out
Either side runs /userphone-hangup to end the call, or the timer runs out naturally. Both channels post a summary ("Call ended after 8m 23s — connected to ServerName"). New calls can start anytime after.

Is userphone safe?

How long does a userphone call last?
Default 10 minutes, configurable from 1 to 30. You can also extend an active call with /userphone-extend if both sides agree. Long-form calls (60+ min) aren't supported by design — userphone is built for quick discovery, not for sustained shared channels (use a private server invite for that).
Can I get matched with the same server twice?
The bot avoids re-matching servers within a 24-hour window so you don't get the same partner immediately. After 24h, it's random again. You can also block specific servers from matching with yours permanently if a call went badly.
Does userphone work with voice channels?
Text-only currently. Voice-to-voice cross-server bridges are technically possible but a moderation nightmare (real-time audio is much harder to filter). Text gives mods a chance to react and ban-hammer if needed.
