How to make a spoiler in Discord
- Text: wrap it in two pipes on each side:
||like this||. - A whole message: start it with
/spoiler. - An image or file: after you add it, click or tap the eye icon on it to mark it as a spoiler.
- An image or file, another way: rename it so the name starts with
SPOILER_before you upload it.

How do I make a spoiler in Discord?
Put two pipes on each side of the text: ||like this||. Discord shows it as a dark bar, and each reader clicks the bar to see the text. The tool above adds the pipes for you.
How do I spoiler a whole message?
Start the message with /spoiler and then type the text. Discord sends the whole message as one spoiler.
How do I spoiler an image or a file?
After you add the file, click or tap the eye icon on it to mark it as a spoiler before you send. You can also rename the file so its name starts with SPOILER_ before you upload it.
Why does my spoiler show the pipes instead of hiding the text?
Check that there are two pipes on each side, with nothing between them. Inside a code block, Discord shows the pipes as plain text, so a spoiler there does not hide anything.
